It Started with Salad
The Stinky Cheese Man Strikes

It is the summer of 2002; The Ronin Warriors had defeated Talpa and his henchmen and were at peace for a few months...until now.
A new enemy loomed on the horizon, the smell of evil rank on the air, the rot of cruelty oozing over Toyama in gray clouds that spilt rain onto the roads. Needless to say, the five Ronin Warriors felt the dark presence of the Dynasty and tried to contact Kayura, Kale, Sekhmet, and Dais who had all returned to the Dynasty to try and undo the evil Talpa had spread. They had not spoken to Kayura who had in her possession both the Ancients Staff and Jewel of Life, and still could not contact her. Yuli, luckily, had disappeared shortly after the clouds had covered the city; the Ronin Warriors had come to the conclusion that Yuli's parents had either killed him, or that the Dynasty had returned to take him captive, thinking he still had the Jewel.

Mia Koji tried desperately to decode her Grandfathers files but found that her grandfather was a crafty old man and it would take months to actually decode the entirety of his archives.
Kento suddenly let out a loud roar of triumph from downstairs, announcing that he'd won yet another game of Motocross Racer 2039. Mia sighed and then stood, walking out into the hall from the study. Her stomach growled, letting out a chuckle she headed down stairs, thinking of what she should make for lunch.

Rowen lay with head phones on his ears, reading yet another novel. Ryo was outside; kicking a soccer ball around in the noontide sun and Sage was meditating under the shade of the trees while Cye and Kento played their video games.
With a sigh, Rowen turned to the last page of his dictionary, suddenly he felt a cold chill run up his spine, the chill that came with Dynasty evil. He stood and walked out into the hallway, Kento and Cye came out of the TV room, obviously disturbed. The three hurried out to the sliding doors that lead to the back yard. Mia was in the kitchen with a bunch of salad greens, she smiled at them.
"Hey guys, I'm making Mandarin Salad with Bleu Cheese...hey? What's wrong?" she asked, Kento flashed her an glance and a false smile.
"Don't worry about it Mia...sound's great." He answered whistfully. Mia watched the three go outside. Ryo and Sage didn't seem to notice anything, Kento caught the soccer ball as Cye looked around and Rowen walked over to Sage.
"Hey, Ryo, don't you feel anything?" asked Kento, Ryo shot him a questioning glance.
"Huh? What?" asked Ryo.
"Like Dynasty soldiers?" asked Kento, Ryo shook his head.
"No, nothing." He replied Kento looked over at Rowen who had asked Sage the same; Sage seemed just as questioning as Ryo.
"Why? You do?" asked Ryo, Kento nodded then shrugged.
"Well, whatever it was, it's gone now." He answered, the five Ronins looked at each other, slightly confused. Clouds were rolling in over Toyama and the hills. Ryo glanced at the sky and sighed.
"Well, let's go back, get some lunch."

Mia cut up the bleu cheese and slipped a piece in her mouth as she opened a can of mandarin oranges, she felt suddenly as if she'd been torn in half, clutching her stomach she gasped, then she felt her mind go clear and the Mia Koji who knew the Ronin Warriors as her friends was replaced by the Dynasty Queen.

Ryo and the others walked back inside and like a burst of arctic wind, they felt the evil disturbance and walked into the kitchen to find Mia still cooking lunch. Ryo looked at her and noticed that her eyes were no longer their deep turquoise but an olive green.
"Hey Mia, did you see anything?" asked Ryo softly, she looked at him and shrugged.
"No, why?" she asked, Ryo shrugged back.
"Just wondering." He answered, Kento made a face at the salad as she slipped in the bleu cheese.
"I ain't eating that." He said bluntly. Mia blinked as the demon within her thought evilly figures, that Ronin either doesn't like rotted cheese or he senses the evil within it... well, it doesn't matter if he eats it or not, I'll get them all tonight while they sleep.
"Then you don't have to eat, Kento." Mia answered blankly.
"What's up, Kento? Usually you eat anything and everything?" asked Ryo.
"Don't like bleu cheese and feeling like the Dynasty's breathing down my neck sorta kills my appetite." He answered, the others nodded.
"Yeah, I'm not hungry, Mia, but I'll have some later." Said Rowen quickly, heading back down the hallway to his dictionary.
"Thanks, but no thanks." Sage and Cye answered in perfect sync as if they’d rehearsed their reply.
Ryo shook his head and walked after Rowen, something evil was in the Koji home, but none of them could sense what.

Mia slipped the salad into the fridge, hoping that one of the foolish Ronins would have a bite and be possessed by the bleu cheese as well. Then she walked back up to her study and locked herself inside.
Let's see what the King and I are up against here, the Ronin Warriors may not fall into my traps.
Mia brought up all the Ronin files that she'd decoded and read through them, the possessor memorizing each image, each line, word for word.

"I don't get it, Rowen, Cye and I all felt the Dynasty in the house, but you guys didn't feel it outside... and neither did we once we were out there. But when we all came back in, we felt it again." Kento clarified.
"Yeah, I felt it when we came in too, very odd." Replied Sage unhappily.
"You think it could be an invisible enemy?" asked Cye.
"Nah, it would've tried attacking us by now." Rowen replied.
"Kento, what was wrong with you? Usually thinking that the Dynasty's close makes you hungrier!?" asked Cye.
"I just...I don't know...I looked at the salad she'd made and my stomach basically turned over, and Mia was acting spooky, I think she's been hanging out in front of her computer too long, her eyes were all weird." Replied Kento, suddenly there was a boom of thunder that made them all jump. The five looked at each other and then chuckled.
"It's probably nothing." Ryo laughed, but it was an uneasy laugh. Kento and Cye turned their video games back on but the news came on just before they plugged in their Nintendo.
"Toyama City has come under some kind of attack, as the clouds rolled over- the city's people were engulfed in a strange green liquid. One person who escaped is here with us now. What did you see?" asked the reporter.
"Well, it got really dark and then down Main Street down at the outdoor mall this green mass came down. For lack of a better description, I'd say it looked like mold, I've never seen anything so gross. People were screaming and running, but those that got touched by it just fell where they were and were swallowed into it..." The Ronin Warriors gave each other uneasy glances.
"Mia..." all five stood quickly and headed up stairs to find out from Mia what was coming their way.


Mia's door was locked, Ryo knocked.
"Hey Mia, open up." he ordered.
"Go away." Her voice was angry and bitter.
"Come on, Mia! Something's attacking the city!!" answered Kento.
"No duh." She answered.
"What?" the Ronins exchanged puzzled glances and then Rowen kicked the door, it fell inward hard. Mia was sitting at her computer, but her face was pale and her eyes were even more of an olive green then they had been before.
"Mia, what's wrong with you!?" Ryo asked, enraged.
"Well, first of all, I'm not Mia." She answered, looking up at him, she stood and raised her hands in front of her, a jet of strange orange goop shot forward at Ryo, wrapping around his leg, he was shocked to the point where he didn't react quick enough, seconds later he felt a sharp pain in his leg, Mia pointed her other hand at the other Four Ronins who rushed forward, four globs of orange goop shot forward, seeming to grow. The four were blasted back into the walls and the orange goop seemed to harden, the four grit their teeth as they felt it burn like acid.
"What is this!?" Ryo shouted. Mia smiled.
"The new Emperor has arrived, Wildfire, and he will destroy all of you."
"Who is this Emperor?!" asked Rowen.
"The ruler of Stinky Cheese Men, of course." She answered; for a moment all five looked at her as if she was insane and then all five burst into helpless laughter despite the burning pain of the goop.
"There's your folly, you don't believe it possible, you think it's some sick joke... that's why he will be victorious." Mia answered, smiling cruelly; Suddenly White Blaze charged into the room and used his powerful claws to cut the Ronins loose, Rowen pulled away the orange goop, finding that it was Velveeta! White Blaze looked at Mia, smelling two scents, one was Mia's and one was terribly rotten cheese. Mia smiled at the beast and raised her hand to it.
"Under my power, I command." Her eyes flared with light and a green goop flew at the tiger who took the hit in his mouth. For a moment White Blaze growled and bent down on the ground, then his eyes flared with a yellow light and the green goop was sucked into his throat, White Blaze looked at the Ronins and growled ferociously. Ryo was shocked, this had to be some kind of extremely demented dream, but he didn't get the chance to wake up. White Blaze charged forward at him, Ryo rolled out of the way, but dodging a fast animal that ways three times as much as you is nearly impossible. Kento pulled Ryo out of the way of the mad tiger's claws and the five Ronins jumped the stairs.
"AFTER THEM!" Mia could be heard shouting. Rowen grabbed the keys to Mia's jeep as they ran outside only to be met by Dynasty soldiers. White Blaze and Mia appeared in the front door behind them, the five Ronins grabbed their Ronin orbs from their pockets and transformed into their subarmors, fighting the Dynasty soldiers as they tried to reach Mia's jeep. White Blaze charged at Cye and raked his claw over Cye's unprotected neck and back, Ryo brought his fist up into White Blazes face quickly as Cye's back and neck bled. White Blaze was stunned; Rowen had reached the jeep and drove through the Dynasty soldiers, the Ronins hurrying into the Ronin-Clown-Car as Rowen smashed through the Dynasty soldiers and down the driveway to the road. Rowen glanced at Cye as Sage healed him.
"You okay, Cye?" asked Rowen quickly, Cye nodded and regretted it, his neck stinging.
"What the hells going on?! Did I hear all of that right?!" asked Kento.
"I'm not sure what's going on, last I heard, the Stinky Cheese Man was a story book character." Rowen answered.
"I know what it was... the bleu cheese, Mia must've eaten a piece... and then she tried to get us too..." Sage answered.
"Possessed by bleu cheese..." Kento murmured. For a moment everyone was silent. It would've been hilarious if it wasn't so real. They drove into town but as they reached the highway, the site that they saw caused them to hold their breaths, the city of Toyama was surrounded by Dynasty gateways, at least 7 large doors could be seen and in place of the tall Microsoft buildings downtown stood a palace, similar to Talpa's.
"LOOK OUT!!" Kento pointed down the road, Rowen gasped, a group of Dynasty soldiers was there in front of them but behind them was something similar to a giant amoeba, covered in green fuzz. Rowen pulled into the median of the highway, the blob shifted and a giant hand make from the moldy amoeba came at the jeep. It struck the vehicle a blow to Ryo's side door. The jeep rolled, the 5 Ronins being tossed mercilessly around inside it. Rowen's head hit the steering wheel and Ryo's face was cut by the shattered glass before his head came down on the dash. Both were unconscious before the car stopped rolling. When the Jeep finally came to halt, upside down, Cye, Sage and Kento looked at each other, none the worse for wear, but Ryo and Rowen were both out cold. Kento looked out the window quickly seeing the green mass and dynasty soldiers rushing over to the jeep.
"We have to move!" He said quickly, he unhooked his seat belt and turned around; opening the back of the Jeep, Sage and Cye crawled out quickly to begin fighting the Dynasty soldiers. Kento unhooked Rowen and Ryo and shoved the two out the front window before following them himself. He picked them up in time to pull them away from the moldy hand. Cye and Sage quickly joined him; the three friends looked at the Dynasty soldiers and mold blob. Sage touched Rowen and Ryo quickly, concentrating, his power healed the two nearly instantly, Ryo and Rowen opened their eyes slowly.
"Get going, Cye, Kento, I'll hold these guys off long enough for you guys to get ahead, I'll be just behind you." Sage said quickly. "ARMOR OF HALO! DAO CHI!" Instantly he was in full armor and holding his no-datchi.
"Sage, watch yourself!" answered Cye quickly as he helped Ryo who was dazed along with Rowen. The four hurried off down the road as Sage turned to face the Dynasty fighters.
"THUNDER BOLT CUT!!!" the explosion of light flared into the mold and the dynasty soldiers. For a moment, Sage wasn't sure it worked, then there was a secondary explosion and he was blasted through the air as the mold blob seemed to self destruct. Sage felt his blade escape his hand and go spinning off before he struck the ground with the impact of being dropped from an airplane and lie still.

The four Ronins saw their friends attack and then the second explosion that lit up the road for miles. The four Ronins looked back, hoping their friend was still alive when the Halo sword buried itself just in front of them.
"SAGE!?" Kento let go of Rowen quickly and began running back. The mold was still burning; the Dynasty soldiers were once again just empty armor. Kento looked around quickly, trying to ignore the terrible smell. Suddenly he saw the glint of Sage's armor and ran across the median to his friend. Sage was out cold and his armor was burnt.
"ARMOR OF HARDROCK! DAO GI!" Kento shouted, in an explosion of cherry blossom petals, he was in his full armor and lifted Sage softly before running as quickly as he could to where his friends were standing.
"Is Sage okay?" Asked Rowen, Kento shook his head.
"Come on guys, we need to get to town." ordered Ryo.
"Right but, let's get armed." replied Rowen. "ARMOR OF STRATA! DAO INOCHI!" he shouted and was quickly in his blue armor.
"ARMOR OF WILDFIRE! DAO JIN!"
"ARMOR OF TORRENT! DAO SHIN!" the two were instantly in full armor, Ryo pulled Sage's sword from the ground and Cye took Kento's staff so he could carry Sage easier.
"Come on..." Ryo ordered, the four friends and an unconscious Sage left the burning mold and headed towards Toyama.

Yuli looked pleadingly up at Mia and Kayura who had both been possessed by the evil cheese man. He was forced to kneel in front of a thrown of gray stone in a hall he'd never been to before, but he assumed it had been Talpa's original thrown room. Suddenly there was the sound of armor against the floor and Yuli looked up at Kayura and Mia, tears in his eyes.
"Wake up...please wake up." he begged. Suddenly he saw two Dynasty soldiers enter and between them"
was the stinky cheese man.

Yuli was stunned; wearing a gold crown and a purple robe, but nothing else, was a ginger bread man made from moldy cheese! The thing had two olives for its eyes and a drooping piece of bacon for its mouth...for a moment, Yuli was inclined to laugh, but he was yanked to his feet by Mia and Kayura.
"Is this the boy who has in his possession the Jewel of Life?" asked the Stinky Cheese Man as he sat on the thrown, Mia and Kayura both nodded.
"Bring him forward" ordered the cheese man. Yuli was carried forward and brought face to face with the rancid grin of the enemy.
"What do you want?" asked Yuli, surprised at his own daring.
"Your body, not your soul, not your heart, not your mind, just your image... Wildfire and his friends won't be able to fight a little boy like you!mwahahahahahaah!!" replied the cheese man; Yuli felt fear grip his heart.
"What!?" he asked, the cheese mans crispy lips creased in a crackling smile.
"Do you want to be free, little boy? Do you want to see the sunlight again? Or your parents?" asked the cheese man, Yuli nodded.
"Fine, I can see you're scared, so I'll choose some one else and let your friends go." Replied the Cheese man kraftily.
"Really!?" Yuli asked.
"Yes, really, all you have to do is eat this." The stinky cheese man held out a piece of Velveeta cheese, Yuli looked at the cheese and then up at Mia and Kayura, what would Ryo do? This might even be a dream, after all, the Emperor of the Dynasty is the Stinky Cheese Man! For goodness sake, nothing I do can have any bad effects...none the less...I should be careful.
"Promise that you won't hurt Ryo!?" asked Yuli quickly.
"All Right...I promise." Replied the cheese man, Yuli took the cheese and ate it. Instantly he felt less scared and much better, his mind cleared and all his problems vanished, he found himself at home with his parents,
